Timex Women’s Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50/100 Watch #T59201 Review

Timex Women's Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50/100 Watch #T59201 I’ve had my watch for probably 3 or 4 years now. I can’t remember because I don’t concern myself with it. I wear it everywhere. My parakeet is also inlove with it as a head-scratching post. I bought it to replace a similar watch given to me by my husband when we were expecting our son 9.5 years ago. (The ingiglo feature finally gave out.) The alarm features on the first watch were the best and I wanted that again! I could take a nap anywhere I needed to — Contrary to some reviews, the alarm is more than enough to wake me up. Later on, it was just plain handy to have a timer, alarm, etc. right on my wrist wherever I went without the bulk of the big watches I’d seen before. Now, my 9.5-year-old son wants a watch with an alarm/timer so that he can remember to come home on time, so I’m getting him this because it’s not as bulky, once again, as the men’s watches.
My only complaint is that it only has 3 alarms (my previous one had five), but that’s just an inconvenience, not really a problem. I liked the fact that I had three consistent alarms and two variable, but I’ve learned to live with three total.

Timex Men’s Ironman Triathlon 42 Lap Combo Dual Tech Watch Review

Timex Men's Ironman Triathlon 42 Lap Combo Dual Tech Watch #T56371

I’ve worn this watch daily for over a year and a half now and it still looks almost as good as the day I purchased it! The front glass is surprisingly durable, and has only one tiny scratch to show for approximately 500 days of being worn. Plus, since you have the option to turn off the digital display it also makes a pretty decent dress watch as well if need be. The stopwatch and timer features are adequate for use in my training and coaching (although not spectacular or anything), and the dual alarms are a nice option. As far as a one-watch-for-all-purposes model goes, I’d say this watch is probably the best compromise out there and is the best watch I’ve owned. For the price I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

Timex Men’s Ironman Triathlon 100-Lap FLIX System Watch Review

Timex Men's Ironman Triathlon 100-Lap FLIX System Watch # T5E231 This watch replaced a G-shock as my primary workout and everyday watch. I bought it primarily because I am now doing mostly interval workouts, both for running and in the gym, and wanted an audible indicator so I did not have to keep checking my watch.

PROS:
Decent-looking watch, except for the BOLD white-wall lettering on the band, but a Sharpie takes care of that. Numbers easy to see, controls easy to figure out and manipulate. Rubber strap does not absorb sweat or grab wrist hairs. FLIX feature very handy for night work, not overly bright. Light-weight, lower profile than typical G-shock.

CONS:
1. Weak chime – hard to hear over any noise.
The roads I’m running are reasonably quiet, aside from the occasional UH-60 helo flying over or diesel honey-truck going by, so most of the time I can hear the multi-tone chime signaling end-of-interval, but have missed it when a vehicle is passing by. Fugedaboudit if you’re in a typical loud gym with music, cardio machines, TVs, and the grunters and plate-slammers, or your own mp3 player, Creative Zen Stone Plus 2 GB MP3 Player (Black).
2. Will NOT work for Tabata Intervals of 20 seconds work, 10 seconds rest, repeat 8 times. I set INT 1 at 20 seconds, INT 2 at 10 seconds (REPEAT at end), then DONE. At end of first 20 sec interval the watch gives only the faintest “pip” before going into interval 2 – practically impossible to hear if you’re involved in any intense cardio exercise. After a little experimenting I discovered that if the second interval is set below 15 seconds you’ll only get that ‘pip,’ otherwise you get a more noticeable “ditty-dee, ditty-dee” signaling the start of interval 2. DOES give a very noticeable 10-second chime at end of interval 2 as it recycles to 1 and repeats.
3. Menu lag time. There’s an annoying 3-4 second lag when switching to the CHRONO mode before you can press START. Does not seem to affect other modes. I’m impatient, and switching between CHRONO and INTERVAL modes while working out or running should not cost me time.

I might buy this again for a running watch, but for my primary workouts (RossTraining.com) I now use the awesome $20 Gymboss Interval Timer clipped to the band of my Ironman watch, set to VIBRATE 1-second between intervals. GYMBOSS does Tabatas perfectly! Train Hard!

Casio Men’s Multifunction Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's Multifunction Sport Watch #93H-1AV Great watch. No need to ever spend more than this in my opinion. Might last years, but if not, no big deal. A small but significant thing, the band is perforated all around, which means it can be worn on a very small wrist, like a child’s

Timex Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50/100 Watch #T54281 Review

Timex Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50/100 Watch #T54281 I am getting back into running again and just needed a basic watch that was lightweight, ergonomic, easy to read, had the bare minimum of features, and most importantly was inexpensive.

I’ve had several Ironman watches over the years, and this one is absolutely fantastic, I am very impressed with this watch and it was a great deal.

It doesn’t track heart rate, it doesn’t have gps, but what it does, it does very well – and that is tell time, track laps, and do so with a minimum of buttons and fuss.

Casio Men’s Ana-Digi Electro-Luminescent Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Electro-Luminescent Sport Watch #AQ160W-1BV

This, as I mention above, is a very good watch for the price I paid. The good points have been mentioned by various other reviewers and I don’t want to mention them once again. However, there are a few minor details that made me hold back one star in its rating.

1. The color of the digital display is not blue but gold. Although this is not a deal breaker, I did choose this watch because the blue letters seemed a bit different from regular watches and so I was a bit disappointed when the real item did not match the picture.

2. The straps are attached to the body of the watch in a fixed curved position which prevents me from placing it on a table in a flat position, thus occupying a bulky space.

3. [This point has been edited] The watch is a little too thick for my taste. This keeps the sleeve of my dress shirt from sliding over it freely and thus forms a somewhat bulky shape on the wrist – you might think about this, especially if your wrists are medium or slim sized.

Invicta Men’s Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch #8926 Review

Invicta Men's Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch #8926 Let me start by saying I am not a diver. I was shopping Amazon for a Tag Heuer 2000 Aquaracer watch just because I liked the look of it when I noticed the Invicta Pro Diver 8926.

I was instantly attracted by its very nice look that resembles both the Tag Heuer Aquaracer and the Rolex Submariner but with an incredibly affordable price.

After going through the large amount of reviews, most of them favorable I decided to purchase it. Amazon’s service was just excelent. I even received my new watch in Madrid a couple of says sooner than initially expected.

I have had my new Invicta Pro Diver 8926 for only two weeks now and I haven’t noticed any of the flaws reported, especially with regard to the timekeeping accuracy. I haven’t been able to detect any time gain / loss and, if it has happened against a more precise quartz watch, it’s not noticeable in everyday’s life.

It is true that the brightness at night of the Tritnite hands and the date cyclops could be improved but yet I wouldn’t advise anyone to reject this watch because of these potential areas of improvement.

In summary, the Invicta Pro Diver 8926 is a fine time piece at a very nice price that I would recommend to everyone as a great purchase.

Invicta Men’s Russian Diver Collection Yellow Watch #4336 Review

Invicta Men's Russian Diver Collection Yellow Watch #4336

A top quality “fun” watch. It is fairly heavy and it is very big compared to all my other watches. As mentioned in some other reviews previously, you will need a decent size wrist to wear this large watch. However, I usually have had 2-3 links removed from all my stainless and titanium band clasp watches to fit my wrist, but I am on the second to last hole on the band of this watch so it may not fit the largest of wrists. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Swiss Legend Women’s Diamond Collection Capri Gold-Tone Watch #40004-33

Swiss Legend Women's Diamond Collection Capri Gold-Tone Watch #40004-33 This is a beautiful watch. Swiss movement. Well made MOP face, you would only find on higher prices watches. Solid plated Stainless Steel band and clasp, it is marked made in China, only on the band. If you know anything about watches most bands are made in China. Most manufacturers do not tell you that. I also bought the Black MOP in Stainless. With the Diamond count at 1 CT this is a great watch. It is not a dainty watch it is a larger face and heavy band. Will last, well made.

Canon VIXIA HV30 MiniDV High Definition Camcorder with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom
I bought this camcorder for a recent trip to Europe, and the results are spectacular. I’m very pleased with the quality of the video and the vibrancy of the colors (almost *too* saturated). The image stabilization is good, and the zoom is great. I haven’t really played with any of the other features, but I recorded 8 hours of video from my trip, and all of it looks wonderfully sharp on my Plasma TV.

Battery life was better than I expected (unlike some of the other reviewers, I was able to fill a one-hour tape on a single battery charge), but I do recommend buying a second battery. If you do so, also invest in a battery charger, as the kit only allows you to charge a battery when it is attached to the camera (it would’ve been nice to have one battery charging while I was using the other).

My minor complaints are as follows:
- As other reviewers have noted, the ‘record’ button is not intuitively placed, nor is it easy to tell when you’re recording, especially in bright sunlight when one is wearing sunglasses and the screen is washed out. As a result I’ve got about 15 minutes of video of my pants leg instead of the desired content.
- The ‘wide angle’ simply wasn’t wide enough to capture some of the views I wanted. I wish I had spent more time using the camera prior to the trip, as I likely would have invested in the available wide-angle lens extender.
- Low-light performance is quite grainy — but understandable given the circumstances. The included light doesn’t help all that much.
- The manual focus dial is basically useless.
- The internal microphone picks up everything – including camera hum, wind noise, etc. In especially windy conditions, this resulted in very poor audio quality.

I bought 2 of the expensive “HD” tapes, but also used 6 standard mini-DV tapes. I see no quality difference between the two. I don’t know if a difference would show up with multiple recordings on the same tape, but for now, I’m more than satisfied with how standard tapes work.

Bottom line: This is an excellent consumer HD camcorder for those who want to watch high-quality home movies on their high-definition TV.
