I have developed two very strong opinions. One is that all bike fenders are overpriced. We are talking at most $5-7 in materials and labor sold for $25-50. I mean it’s two strips of plastic and some hardware. Not knocking capitalism… just saying. The second is that if you order something on line that has to be assembled, downloaded, or otherwise installed or manipulated don’t whine that it doesn’t magically just happen. An hour or two of monkeying around with tools and going to the hardw……

The fenders were shipped promptly, they arrived three days after I placed the order, however there was a problem. The wrong fenders were sent due to Planet Bike mislabeling the fenders. I received 26 inch x 61mm fenders instead of the 700c x 45mm fenders. I emailed Niagara and they promptly sent the correct fenders with return shipping for the first set of fenders. Good company to do business with.

I’ve had other planet bike fenders in the past, but the rigid construction and hardware for the hardcore set is a huge improvement. I would definitely recommend these over the other types available from planet bike.

The fenders were not difficult to install, thought, I had to supply some different bolts and nuts. Not unexpected, all bikes are different in structure. A trip to the hardware store did it. I put the fenders on a Nashbar Cyclocross frame I use for daily commuting. No complaints here, though I can see where it might have to be done by a LBS if a person is not somewhat mechanicly inclined. I did have to replace the front derailleur because of clearance issues.(needed a better one anyway!) NO COMPL……

I have had these fenders on my ‘08 GT Transeo 4.0 for about a week now, and they have really helped in keeping the road grime off of my back. I wish my bike shop stocked the Cascadias, because I would have gotten those instead. The mudflaps that come on these don’t do much.

Great fenders. Fully fit my bicycle, no installation problems. support arms are nice to keep it sturdy and secure. they also allow for slight adjustments to fit your tire perfectly. It says the compound of these fenders is indestructible! Don’t want to test that though. Mudflaps are nice. These fenders keep my dry from tire water! of course it won’t protect you from going through a big puddle, fenders will protect you want water that is brought up from the wheel. These are nice when it is……

Even though I have an older bike the fender set required no modifications. The install was straight forward and took about an hour. The fenders are working very well.

I read in reviews before I bought this product that you had to be a little mechanically oriented to install them. So I was ready with the drill and different screws before they were delivered. When I installed them they went on without any problem. No refabricating or anything and they look sharp. I don’t know if I just happened to have a bike these work well with or what but it didn’t take me long at all to install them and they feel very sturdy. Good product.

These “universal” fenders did not fit, at least not totally and definitely not at all when I tried it in combination with my rear rack. However, after buying some longer screws (and a couple shorter ones) some lock tight nuts and a whole lot of zip ties at the hardware store I made it work.

I bought the yellow version so it wouldn’t fade in the sun as bad (plus you can’t beat “free” shipping). Once I got them on they did their job perfectly, that is keeping all the mud and rain from s……

“universal” fit can be tricky. They fit…after some cutting and bolting a new hole plus a few extra modifications so they wouldn’t interfere with the tires and brakes.

They now work. and I have high hopes they will keep the wet stripe off my back ( and elsewhere) during inclement weather.

The description of the part says “Freddy Fenders”. Fenders with the “S” on the end means more than one. Since bicycles have two places for them, the foregone conclusion would be that you are buying 2 fenders, not 1. However, only one came in the box despite the photo attached to my confirmation which shows 2, along with the reviews provided which reference 2. Not a good buy simply due to horrible, vague description and questionable business tactics forcing you to hunt down and buy a front fe……

I saw this on sale and bought one for my bmx. I don’t ride in the rain, but even going through puddles and run off water my shirt back would get dirty. Yes its meant for a front mount on a recumbent but I was able to get it mounted as a rear fender on my bmx using the included mounting hardware. If you’re handy you can probably get this to work on any bike with 20″ tires.

Hi – These look like OK fenders – but be aware that you’ll need eyelets on your bike forks and frame for mounting, unless you want to create your own hardware and workarounds. The sales information claim that they work on “virtually” any bike is a bit disingenuous.

The fenders feel rather cheap and did not go on very straight without lots of adjustments, but it did come with everything you need to install onto your bike. I put mine on my Dawes Lightning 1000, which had enough clearance for the fenders. The rear fender attachment that hangs on the brake screw makes it difficult to tighten the caliper brake in place and the brake goes out of adjustment easily with a slight push so i have to be mindful not to hit the rear brake. Otherwise its a fine fender……

These fenders are a great addition to a commuter bike. They are light, go on very easily, with good installation instructions and serve their purpose very well. I’ve ridden in light and heavy rain and they do just what they are expected to do. I’d recommend them to anyone that rides a commuter, or touring bike.

They were not easy to install, despite the advertising that said they were. I have a small bike frame (13.5″) with 700cc 35mm wheels. These fenders are a tight fit and I’m still tweaking their fit because something is always rubbing somewhere. I’m not absolutely certain the fit troubles are because of the small bike frame.

The instructions that came with the fenders are better than instructions that have come with other bike components, but they still assume the person reading them……

Nice fenders.Just a little finicky when it came to attaching. I am not the most mechanically inclined individual, so I had to take a few deep breaths and count to 10. Eventually I was able to finish the project and they look good and are affective. Finally remember to check the nuts on occasion, they might work themselves loose.
